Long time no see

Fall came, winter came, snow even came, Christmas came (and went away...) and
all along there was knitting done - well, if we count out the time I was in bed with flu and a 6 cm hole in my head...! But my Ravelry page tells me there are a lot of things I still need to share here.

I'll begin with something completely non-Christmassy. The undershirt and cardigan was made for a friend of mine who had her first baby a month ago. The cardigan is more purple and brown in real life - and the buttons are bright orange.

Short row cardigan
  • Pattern : Drops Jacket - found here
  • Yarn : Knit Picks Shadow in Sunset and Heather from stash
  • Needles : Size 3 mm circs - knit back and forth
  • Size : About 6 months
  • Weight : 50-60 grams
  • Buttons : 3 orange buttons from stash
  • Started : July 2009
  • Finished : December 1st 2009
  • Mods : Used thinner yarn so I modified the amount of stitches
  • For : Tiny baby Tobias
I absolutely adore this pattern, but oh how I hated to knit it. I got so bored with it very, very soon after starting. The mother of the baby was happy, though, and it is true that the cardigan can be worn for a long time.

Baby undershirt
  • Pattern : Just cast on and knit
  • Yarn : Madame Tricote Almina in white (#5306) - from stash
  • Needles : 3 mm circ
  • Size : 3-6 months
  • Weight : 32 grams
  • Buttons : 2 light brown from stash
  • Started : September 20 2009
  • Finished : September 27 2009
  • For : Tiny baby Tobias
This was another 'going-to-the-cinema-without-anything-on-the-needles'-project. I ended up really loving it, though, and could end up knitting many more with all those babies popping up around me.

Well, I'll get back to the sofa now - more FO should be here in a few days...
